PURPOSE
ALPHA MINDS is an organization created to assists our youth and young adults transitioning from college to corporate America. We also help individuals looking for a career change and those seeking life skills.
There may be a greater need for the youth from single-parent households, to have mentors who provide another voice and perspective other than their mothers or fathers view. Even the most loving and supportive parents rely on a network of resources to empower their children to maximize their potential. The presence of a mentor should in no way suggest that the parent is deficient or lacking in a negative way.
Through after-school meetings and some weekends, our volunteers and staff mentors are helping the youth who are at-risk, broaden their horizons. Our youth are taught to be responsible young men and women. Our mentors motivate, mold and accompany them, along with other volunteers, on informative weekends.
OUR VISION
Alpha Minds is focused on skill building, discovering and bringing the best attitudes and behaviors forward in those who desire to make a better life for themselves.
Our organization encourages our youth to create a list of their day to day needs and their long-term goals? We confirm if they have transportation to get to and from work or school? It is important for us to know if they want to continue their education or enter into the workforce after graduating. This will help them systematically think through their options and help us develop a plan for them.
Assisting youth with finding employment that will enable them to be self-sufficient can be somewhat challenging, but we promote building relationships with employers and other high school work programs. Connecting our youth to these programs, can help them gain job readiness skills. Furthermore, these part-time positions might lead to a full-time position after graduating. The youth who have actual work experience while still in school have a better chance of regular employment once they are living on their own or continuing their education.

Most youth feel emotionally SAFE in positive and respectful surroundings.
